Welcome to the Institute of Contemporary European Studies
(iCES)
The Institute of Contemporary European Studies (iCES) seeks to
build on the existing pool of research, expertise and contacts
within the European Business School
London and its partner schools throughout Europe in order to
contribute to the debate on contemporary Europe and contemporary
European Studies.
iCES is organised as a network of
activities at the centre of which is the iCES Annual Review. These activities
are arranged as an annual cycle of events oriented towards
final publication in the Contemporary
Europe iCES Annual Review and in the iCES Occasional Paper series. This
cycle of activity includes:
In addition to developing links between
the EBS partnership network European Business Schools International
( EBSI ), further
collaborative work will be undertaken with the European Government
Business Relations Council, The Senior
Experts group, Eurointelligence, the
Jean Monnet
Association and the Robert Schuman Foundation.
iCES undertakes specialised research
projects in the field of European business and management, media,
broadcasting, political ideologies, ethnographic and regional
studies.
The challenges confronting contemporary
Europe are wide-ranging: enlargement, climate change, energy,
defence, financial integration, security, migration. The overall
purpose of iCES is to engage actively in this debate on the
construction of Europe in the 21st century and aim in
the process to raise the profile of contemporary Europe and
contemporary European studies.
