European Ethnography at iCES
FiLo workshop, iCES, Regent's College

The first 'Fieldwork in London Network' workshop is being hosted
by the Institute of
Contemporary European Studies (iCES), at Regent's College. This
event is supported by the iCES group on European Ethnographic
Research, The University of Sussex, and CDEC.
The FiLo Network
FiLo is a
researcher run and inspired network, that aims to bring together
researchers who have chosen London as their field site. Some of
their interests are on migration, transnationalism, ethno-political
studies, deportation, dance, cultural politics, and
cosmopolitanism. The network is open to anyone undertaking
fieldwork research in London.
The Event
The event will have two distinguished keynote speakers, a
discussion and poster presentations on the network's theme and
aims: Fieldwork in London. It will take place in iCES Tuke 301,
Regent's College, followed by refreshments, lunch and a guided
walking tour of London.

Discussion and Poster Presentations:
One purpose of the workshop is to brainstorm about the purpose,
use and direction of the network followed by a series of poster
presentations and discussions. Poster presentations are an informal
way to present the memeber's research and find out about each
other's work. Further details on the workshop and Poster

to prepare a poster.
Registration:
Attendance at the workshop is free, but you must register in
advance, ideally before the end of July. Register please contact

attend and/or present a poster.
After the event:
Tea/Coffee and lunch will be provided at iCES, Regent's College.
There will be an invitation to the Knapp Gallery at Regent's
College on the theme of 'London Life'. There will be a guided
walking tour of central London for all participants after the
workshop.
