Professor Jean-Claude Sergeant, Université de la Sorbonne nouvelle

Jean-Claude SergeantJean-Claude Sergeant  is a well-known scholar of European media and policy and former head of the British and American Studies Department at the University of Paris III (Sorbonne Nouvelle). He was also former Director of the Maison Française in Oxford, a research centre funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  He will deliver an Lecture on the theme of 'The Future of Television Broadcasting in Europe'.

Professor Sergeant has published extensively on Franco-British relations and French and British Media and Broadcasting. He is the author of numerous books and articles, including Visages de la presse britannique (1987), La Grande-Bretagne a travers sa presse (1991), La Grande-Bretagne de Margaret Thatcher (1994), Les Medias britanniques (2004) and 'Adjusting to Diversity - the Case of England and France in Group Identities on French and British Television (2003).
