iCES Promotes Collaboration with EBS Paris

On 19, 20 and 21 October 2009 iCES was instrumental in facilitating a series of collaborative projects between the European Business School London and the European Business School Paris under the aegis of EBSI, the European Business Schools International network.

A Triple Site Degree for Students

A meeting held on 19 October was aimed at progressing a triple site MBA degree currently being developed collaboratively between EBS London, EBS Paris and the University of North Florida (UNF) at Jacksonville, Florida.

The new degree, scheduled to commence in September 2011, will enable students recruited from all three institutions to undertake MBA studies on three different sites, with those successfully completing the programme being awarded a joint EBS-UNF degree.

Significant progress was made at the meeting attended by Professor Bruno Neil (Director EBS Paris), Dr Andres Gallo (Director International Flagship Programme UNF), Dr Pierre Ferrando (Head of the International Masters Programme EBS Paris), Dr Eric Jean Garcia (Academic Dean EBS Paris), Professor Michael Scriven and Programme Directors from EBS London.

Collaborative Research

On 20 October, Dr Eric Jean Garcia met with a number of academic staff from the Faculty of Business and Management to discuss possibilities for collaborative research between iCES and IREBS, Institut de Recherche EBS.  In particular, collaborative research possibilities were reviewed in the fields of banking and finance, privatisation in Europe, pedagogical research, cultural and leadership studies.

Developing Initiatives

All these collaborative possibilities, the EBS-UNF triple site MBA, iCES-IREBS research collaboration and EBS London-EBS Paris study period abroad and joint Masters initiatives, will be discussed further at the next EBSI meeting which is to be hosted by iCES in London on Friday 20 November 2009.
