Your Options
As a compulsory part of your degree programme, you are required
to spend semesters 4 and 5 away from EBS London. At least one of
these semesters must be spent studying a language abroad in one of
our partner institutions.
There are five Study Period Abroad (SPA)*
combinations you can choose from:
- Two foreign language semesters at the same institution
- Two foreign language semesters at two different
institutions
- One foreign language semester and one "English" semester
- One foreign language semester and one "native speaker"
semester
- One foreign language semester and a " Placement Learning
Project (PLP)"
* Please note that if you are a beginner in
your chosen language, you MUST take two foreign language semesters
(unless you are doing two core languages).
Foreign language semesters
All undergraduate students are required to
spend at least one semester studying abroad while taking classes in
the native language. According to the foreign language(s) you
choose at EBS London, you may also wish to take further language
classes while abroad to assist with your
development.
“English” semester
EBS London has an exchange agreement in
several countries who teach classes in English. The location of
these institutions can be found in every corner of the world, from
Canada to Brazil, Demark to Australia. These programmes are only
available to students who have an intermediate or advanced level in
their chosen foreign language.
Native speaker semester
You may also have the opportunity to spend
your second SPA at an EBS London partner institution that teaches
classes in your native language. These programmes are only
available to students who have an intermediate or advanced level in
their chosen foreign language.
Placement Learning Project (PLP)
A popular alternative to an exchange programme
is a PLP. Similar to an internship, you will be required to work
within a foreign company/organisation. While working in a foreign
language, you will be assigned work based projects by EBS London.

"On the programme, the concept of Entrepreneurship is used as a platform in order to teach students how to look at things in a more structured manner, and to take the broader view on business in general."
