Of & With is a creative initiative in celebration of the qualities that outlast time –the sincerity and strength of a human heart, the carefully crafted object and the story well told. It is an effort to use the unparalleled force that pumps from the curious exploration of film, writing, art, music and design to bring forward stories, human beings and products that strive for the true essence of timelessness – to become lasting parts of who we are.

For the people of Western Norway, the rough waters of the coastline and shadows of high mountains was always more than just a cinematic backdrop; its unforgiving nature shaped the quiet and resilient mindset of our ancestors – and the garments they crafted for shelter.
This humble and holistic way of life, at peace with the powers of nature in its most rugged environment, is what inspired the inception of Ætt’s philosophy; to honour the tradition of craft and resilience brought forward by working men, sailors and mountaineers throughout decades of hard work.
Few places was this tradition more evident than on the west coast of Norway. Although recognized for breeding big-name explorers and mountain men, the core of Norwegian history lies in the humble heritage of small communities set in midst of unpredictable landscapes and seasons, constantly challenging the ever-present fight for survival. For centuries, this forced the people of Western Norway to refine and improve on what nature gives you, leading them to develop and perfect the fine craftmanship of leather tanning and wool knitting.
