Study Abroad Academic Procedures
This page outlines some of the academic procedures relevant to
students coming to EBS London to study abroad.
Student ID card
Your student ID card is central to life at EBS London, as you
will need it to enter the building and also to borrow books from
the library. We will use the photograph that you sent in your
application to create your ID card, and you will be able to collect
it at Registration during induction week.
Student e-mail
All students are given an e-mail address at EBS in the IT
induction during induction week. We suggest you use this email
address while studying here, as we will use this to communicate
with you once you have arrived.
Classes
During the Induction Week, each student will be issued with
a personal timetable showing the times and locations of each
class. Most classes meet two or three times a week, for
double periods of 105 minutes or single periods of 50 minutes
each.
The teaching day runs from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday.
When there is no scheduled class, students are invited to undertake
personal study in the library or in one of the computer labs.
Work Load
Students may take a maximum of 4 business
modules plus one language module per semester. There is an
Buisiness English Module for Exchange
Students available, which is delivered at different levels to
cater for all needs.
Availability of Modules
Every effort will be made by the School to offer all modules
which appear on the published list. However student enrolment and
academic staff availability may affect the running of a module.
Furthermore, some Option Modules are offered only upon sufficient
demand as determined by the respective Heads of Department and
approved by the Academic Director. EBS London cannot guarantee that
all modules requested by any one student will be offered during the
Autumn or Spring semesters.
IF A MODULE IS COMPULSORY FOR YOU ACCORDING TO
YOUR HOME INSTITUTION IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU INDICATE THIS
IN YOUR APPLICATION FORM.
Please note that once you have been assigned to your chosen
modules, you will not be allowed to alter your
selection. Therefore it is imperative that you
consider your options carefully. Only students who are not assigned
to their choices will be permitted to partake in the add/drop
period at the beginning of semester
